Aqueous emulsions containing an ethylene-vinyl ester copolymer and a non-ionic surfactant of the polyoxyalkylene type (I) comprising 1-10 parts by weight (pts. wt.) polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether and 0.01 pt. wt. or less of a polyoxyalkylene phenyl ether to 100 pts. wt. vinyl ester units in the copolymer. Independent claims are also included for: (a) products obtained by drying these emulsions; and (b) a method for the production of these emulsions by emulsion copolymerization of ethylene and vinyl ester in presence of (I).
