The invention relates to a covering element (100) for containers, which contain a free-flowing good, for placing on an edge area of a discharge opening of such a container with a covering area (110) which, in essence, completely covers the discharge opening of the container when properly used, and with an edge area (140), which is structured so that it is essentially complementary to the edge area of the discharge opening of the container. The edge area (140) of the covering element (100) is at least partially made from a material, which is softer than the material of the covering area (110) of the covering element (100). The covering element fulfills high requirements both with regard to an aseptic filling of a free-flowing good and for aseptically preserving the good inside the container as well as with regard to a comfortable and reliable use and, at the same time, can be easily and economically produced. The invention also relates to a discharge closure comprising a covering element of the aforementioned type, and to a container that is provided with such a discharge closure or covering element.
