The control unit has a logic circuit (10,23) which, not only, locks the security unit towards actuation, as a function of the general state of the vehicle, but also the active state, independent of the intervention of the user, as a function of the general state. The device includes a sensor (2,7) for detecting the general state of the vehicle, with security unit (1) serving to lock or render the vehicle available for use, and a control unit connected to the inlet side of the sensor, and the exit side of the safety unit and serving to block the actuation of the security unit as a function of the general state of the vehicle, in order to avoid erroneous maneuvering.
