The transmission shaft braking comprises a set of coaxial discs (100) with friction parts made of a composite material structure. A pressure structure (122) is located opposite an external surface of a first end stator disc, a support structure (124) is located opposite an external surface of a second end stator disc. A sealed casing (126,128,132,134) is filled with a lubricating liquid in which the pressure structure, the set of discs and the support structure are housed. On the casing external periphery is a circumferential gallery (142) for the circulation of a cooling liquid.
