The invention concerns a method characterised in that it comprises steps which consist in: identifying, among the work stations in the assembly line, those which are likely to present instantaneous excess workloads, that is those for which a sequence of assembly operations (S1', S2') implies a duration longer than the cycle time (TCY) of the assembly line; and defining, for each of said work stations, scheduling rules enabling to absorb such instantaneous excess workloads.
