PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording control method and a recording apparatus following even a change of a temp. rising gradient, generating no waste in the operation of a printing head and capable of inexpensively controlling the temp. of the head. ;SOLUTION: A controller 3 obtains the temp. of a printing head 1 from a head temp. direction thermistor 2 and sets the cooling time of the printing head from the time required in the rising from first temp. to second temp. and the environmental temp. obtained by an environmental temp. detection thermistor 4. When excessive heat is generated in the printing head 1 to exceed the second temp., immediately after the printing of one band or a plurality of bands is completed, printing work and moving work are stopped by the cooling time set at that place to lower the temp. of the printing head 1.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
