PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the interest and the will to try karaoke (sing-along music) of users to further promote the use of karaoke by providing a karaoke playing device having the function of displaying a CG animation which varies depending on service conditions. SOLUTION: This device has a CG animation production means 123 which outputs an image of protagonist design expressed as an animation. The protagonist design is determined by a number of static and dynamic elements and varied by changing the set value of each element. Attribute data characteristic of each piece of music are made to correspond to karaoke data for each piece of music, which consist of accompanying music data and words data. To play a piece of music requested, the attribute data about the piece of music are acquired to change the set value of each element according to the attribute data. A CG animation in which the protagonist design determined in accordance with each element moves around is displayed during or before and after the play on the piece of music.
