PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a snow landscape image or a snow landscape map which exhibits impressive sense of reality by obtaining an image preparation method for reproducing actual snowfall conditions in a target region for image preparation.;SOLUTION: A region whose image preparation is scheduled is divided into meshes, and on the basis of the numerical altitude data of each mesh 2, the percentage of the altitude value of the mesh 2 at least to the maximum altitude of the region whose image preparation is scheduled is reprented by H, and the percentage of the mean value of the ground apertures of the plurality of azimuths of the mesh 2 to the maximum ground aperture of the region whose image preparation is scheduled is represented by V, and the percentage of the mean value of the angles of inclination of the plurality of azimuths of the mesh 2 to the maximum angle of inclination of the region whose image preparation is scheduled is represented by K. Then, a snow index SI is calculated for each mesh by using a formula SI=H×Vm×Kn (1≤m≤3, 1≤n≤3).
