The present invention provides a regenerated collagen fiber which is excellent in tactile feeling during light and wet, and is capable of imparting a desired shape easily, and can firmly set and hold its shape. Furthermore, the present invention provides a regenerative collagen fiber capable of suppressing odor generated during heat treatment. The present invention relates to a regenerative collagen fiber obtained by treating a collagen with a monofunctional epoxy compound and an aluminum salt. Further, the present invention relates to a method of producing a regenerative collagen fiber characterized by treating the collagen with a monofunctional epoxy compound and treating it to contain 2 to 40% by weight of aluminum salt in the form of aluminum oxide (al. Sub.2 O.sub.3).
