PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize automatic playing with high resolution and precise utterance timing without increasing a load on a CPU by beforehand forming and storing the key-on data, obtaining various parameters used for utterance corresponding to the key-on data and beforehand setting them. ;SOLUTION: Preceding processing is started according to the occurrence of a MIDI clock interruption signal MCO, and the event data K1-K5 are read out in the preceding processing. Key-on maps M1-M5 and the duration data D1-D5 are obtained based on the read out event data K1-K5 to be stored in a prescribed register in a RAM. Together with that, various parameters required for uttering the event data K1-K5 are obtained to be stored in a parameter register in a voice source circuit. Thus, the load of utterance processing is reduced, and the precise utterance timing is preserved.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
