PURPOSE: To obtain an amino-methoxymethylceph-em-carboxylic acid in high yield by treating an amino-methoxymethylceph-em-carboxylic acid ester with an acid. ;CONSTITUTION: A 7-amino-3-methoxymethylceph-3-em-4-carboxylic acid ester expressed by formula I is treated with an acid (e.g. trifluoroacetic acid, methanesulfonic acid, trifluoromethanesulfonic acid or the like), preferably a mixture of two acids to obtain the compd. of the purpose expressed by formula II.
