SHAPE CONTROL SYSTEM FOR VARIABLE GEOMETRY TRUSS STRUCTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shape control system which makes a variable geometry truss structure variously changeable in shape.;SOLUTION: The system is comprised of the plurality of variable geometry truss structures A, B, C, D, a control section 40 for controlling the shapes of the respective variable geometry truss structures A, B, C, D, and an external input information obtaining section 42. The control section 40 determines operating patterns of the respective variable geometry truss structures A, B, C, D, based on external input information obtained by the external information input section 42, and individually controls expansion/contraction of actuators of the respective variable geometry truss structures A, B, C, D such that the variable geometry truss structures A, B, C, D are variable according to the operating patterns, via control lines 43, 44, 45, 46 respectively. Thus, the shape of each variable geometry truss structure is rendered variable by sensing music, human voice, ambient sound, etc., for instance.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
