PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermally and hydrothermally stable synthetic material to which an active material can be stuck and in which the active material can be dispersed. ;SOLUTION: The compsn. contg. an inorg. porous material has wall parts which demarcate channels of medium pore size having about 15-100 Å average diameter and such a narrow diameter distribution as about ≤30 Å. The void volume of the material by the channels of medium pore size is at least about 0.1 cc/g and the surface area is at least about 500 m²/g. The material has at least about 1.5 mmol hydroxyl groups per 1 g and has thermal stability and hydrothermal stability up to about 500°C.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
