PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light spectrum analysis means of a heterodyne base that reduces the amount of data to be processed and at the same time is capable of analysis with high resolution.;SOLUTION: The light spectrum analysis (OSA) of heterodyne base includes the generation of heterodyne beat signals by mixing an input signal (402) with a sweep local oscillator signal (406) for generating a heterodyne beat signal, and the enlargement before sampling the heterodyne beat signal. The light spectrum analysis system comprises a local oscillation source (405), a photocoupler (410), a heterodyne receiver (412), and a processor (416). The enlargement of the heterodyne beat signal includes the extension of continuation time in signals so that the number of samples per unit time is reduced as compared with that of samples in signals for detecting the signals. Other execution forms of OSA include a first data collection unit for acquiring data having low resolution, and a second data collection unit for acquiring data having high resolution.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
