PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve luminous efficiency of a lamp, in a lamp such as a phosphor lamp and an HID.;SOLUTION: This glass composition of a glass tube 11 is similar to that of general soda glass in its basic composition and contains, in addition to the basic composition, a first rare-earth oxide selected from a first group comprising gadolinium oxide (Gd2O3), terbium oxide (Tb2O3) and praseodymium oxide (Pr2O3), and a second rare-earth oxide selected from a second group comprising europium oxide (Eu2O3), terbium oxide (Tb2O3), dysprosium oxide (Dy2O3) and neodymium oxide (Nd2O3), respectively in a range of 0.01-30 wt.%.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
