PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely separate sediment from solid matters regardless of the conditions, properties or the like of the sediment, to take the sediment into a sediment hopper, to pass only the sediment through a sieve quickly and surely when sediment having a low viscosity is taken in thereby removing solid matters from the sieve, and to pass the sediment surely after separation of the solid matters also when sediment having a high viscosity is put in. ;SOLUTION: A sieve attached to a frame body 21 of a sediment placing section sloped with an angle almost coinciding with the angle of slope of a carrying-in conveyor 9 has the same slope condition. For vibrating this sieve, a vibrating drum 40 rotated and driven by a hydraulic motor 35 is provided, when the vibrating drum 40 is rotated in one direction, the things placed on the sieve is subjected to a thrust in a direction with which the things placed are removed downward in the sloped direction, and when the vibrating drum 40 is rotated in a reverse direction, the things placed on the sieve is subjected to a direction with whcih the things placed are pushed up in the slope direction.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
