PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitor image photographing device for an endoscope which answers to both a film cassette bearing information and a film cassette bearing no information regardless of discrimination by a resistance value or the like. SOLUTION: The film cassette 2 bearing information is provided with a resistance film 9 for discriminating the film information by the resistance value R. When the film cassette 2 is loaded in a camera 3, the resistance film 9 comes into contact with two contact points inside the camera 3 to detect the resistance value R by being divided by a standard resistance value, corresponding film information is electrically discriminated by the detected resistance value R and photographing operation can be performed in a photographing condition corresponding to the discrimination result. When the film cassette 2' bearing no information provided with no resistance film 9 is loaded, photographing can be also performed by sending a film information setting signal to a monitor image photographing device main body 4 by manual input to a key board or the like at an electronic endoscope device 4 side.
