PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent unauthorized use of performance data to be distributed from a server 4.;SOLUTION: A personal computer 2 is connected with the server 4 through a communication network 3, and an electronic organ 1 is connected with the computer 2 through an MIDI cable. The performance data for listening trial is sent from the server 4 to the organ 1 through the computer 2 to carry out listening trial operation, and purchasing operation is carried out to send performance data for purchasing. Data encrypted by the server 4 is decrypted to the performance data by the computer 2. A key is generated by the organ 1 and sent to the computer 2. The computer 2 newly codes the performance data by using the key. The coded data is embedded to the exclusive data of an MIDI standard and sent to the organ 1, which decodes it by using the key.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
