PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collagen production promoter having action activating production of collagen by a fibroblast, an elastase inhibitor inhibiting elastase activity which involves in decrease and modification of elastin, a cllagenase inhibitor inhibiting collagenase activity which involves in decrease and modification of collagen, a skin cosmetic containing these active ingredients and having action for preventing and improving aging of the skin and a beautifying food or beverage having beautifying action. PSOLUTION: This invention provides the collagen production promoter, the elastase activity inhibitor and the collagenase inhibitor containing, respectively as an active ingredient, a collagen production-promoting substance, an elastase activity-inhibiting substance and a collagenase activity-inhibiting substance each extracted from Zingiber cassumunar of the Family ginger or Ficus neriifolia of the Family Moraceae and provides the skin cosmetic and the beautifying food or beverage each formulating these active ingredients.
