摘要
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide use of a gene and a protein available for development of a therapeutic agent for Aarskog-Scott syndrome by finding a homolog of human FGD1 gene from nematode C. elegans and determining the base sequence thereof and an amino acid sequence of a protein encoded by the base sequence.;SOLUTION: Exc-5 gene encoded by linkage group IV of C. elegans genome is a DNA having about 2.9 kbp of size and encodes EXC-5 protein having 826 amino acid residues. The gene and the protein are homologs of the human FGD1 gene and FGD1 protein. An experimental model of the Aarskog-Scott syndrome can be constituted in C. elegans by using the gene and the protein.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
