METHOD FOR JUDGING MINIMUM OPENING DEGREE OF POURING HOLE IN LADLE AND JUDGING INSTRUMENT THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for judging a minimum opening degree of a pouring hole in a ladle and a judging instrument therefor for stably judging the minimum opening degree of the pouring hole without exposing the poured stream to the atmosphere and without needing the observation by an operator, in a continuous casting in which molten steel in the ladle 1 is poured into an intermediate pan 2 (tundish) through the pouring hole 3 in the ladle and further, cast into a mold 12 from the intermediate pan 2.;SOLUTION: In the method for judging the minimum opening degree of the pouring hole in the ladle and the judging instrument therefor, the opening degree of the pouring hole is judged to be the minimum opening degree 20 when the change with time of the intermediate pan weight 18 satisfies a preset lightening condition of the intermediate pan weight by gradually reducing the opening degree of the pouring hole 3 in the ladle while performing the pouring of the molten steel into the intermediate pan 2 from the ladle 1 and the casting of the molten steel into the mold 12 from the intermediate pan 2. As the intermediate pan weight 18, a weight obtained by removing a high frequency component from the actually measured value of the intermediate pan weight, is used.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
