PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for searching out a vasodilating substance that can be used as a new type hypotensor.;SOLUTION: The vasodilating substance-searching process comprised the step (a) where a test substance is brought into contact with blood vessel smooth muscle cells (or a test substance is brought into contact with blood vessel smooth muscle cells and an angiotonic substance), the step (b) where the expression of a gene bearing a specific base sequence or its orthologous gene is measured and the expression is compared with the expression of the gene or its orthologous gene of a control cell and the step (c) where a test substance that can change the expression of the gene or its orthologous gene is selected.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
