WOODEN THICK BOARD, END CAP USED THEREFOR, AND METHOD FOR PROTECTING THE SAME FROM DAMAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide method for protecting a wooden thick board for a scaffolding from wear and damage caused from severe weather and rough handling.;SOLUTION: An protection end cap 10 to be fitted to the end of the wooden board is provided with a back column 16 and tapered sides 18, 20 extending from both sides of the back column. The protection end cap has a substantially recessed curved part along the longitudinal axis of a slender body alternatively or additionally, and also has an inside face 22 formed so as to closely fit to the outside face of the end of the wooden thick board 40. Further, the protection end cap is provided with an inner diameter which gradually enlarges as the side stretches from the back column section. The wooden thick board is protected from damage by fixing the wooden thick board with the protection end cap and the end cap to the wooden thick board.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
