DRIVING ABILITY SETTING METHOD, DRIVING ABILITY SETTING PROGRAM AND DRIVING CIRCUIT

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compactly, simply and inexpensively compose a driving circuit and to correspond to a wide variety of extension memories. PSOLUTION: In the disclosed driving ability setting method, the driving circuits of a number responding to a data bus width of the extension memory are provided, and they comprise a plurality of parallel-connected output buffers respectively having different driving abilities and individually activated in response to selection data supplied from a computer or the like. The method has a step SP1 of supplying the selection data instructing selection of the output buffer BF1 to the driving circuits in a system initializing process after turning on the computer or the like, a step SP2 of carrying out a read/write test to the extension memory, and a step SP4 of supplying selection data instructing selection of another output buffer to the driving circuits when the read/write test has been failed. Processes of repeating the steps SP2 and SP4 until the read/write test is passed are carried out in regard to all driving circuits. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
