PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cultivating long-day plants promoting growth and flowering of flowering plants belonging to long-day plants regardless of cultivation seasons even with relatively less equipment investment, and to provide facilities for cultivating plants suitably usable in the method.;SOLUTION: The method for cultivating long-day plants comprises the following processes: a first process of arranging long-day plants P in plant cultivation facilities H provided with a covering body 2 changing the light quality of the sunlight so that the photon flux density of red light/far red light is smaller than 1, a second process of irradiating the long-day plants P with the sunlight transmitted through the covering body 2 in the daytime, and a third process of irradiating the long-day plants P with artificial light where a photon flux density is 0.1 μmol m^-2 s^-1, and also the photon flux density ratio of red light to far red light is 1.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
