METHOD OF INSPECTING LEAKAGE OF WATER FEED PIPING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily determine whether water is leaking from piping supplied with water near a place where a shutoff valve is installed, in the case that the supply of water is stopped due to an earthquake.;SOLUTION: A conduit (piping) 2 leading from a water tank 1 can be shut off by a shutoff valve 3a in an earthquake. A bypass 4 joined with the conduit 2 over an area extending from a position in front of the shutoff valve 3a to a forward position allows water to pass through from the water tank 1 when the conduit is shut off by the shutoff valve 3a. A detector 7 provided in the bypass 4 is used to detect the passage of water in the bypass 4 to determine whether water is leaking from the part of the water-fed piping 2a beyond the shutoff valve 3a and determine the amount of leakage.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
