PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for AC servo motor free from the danger of burnout in DC buses.;SOLUTION: The controller for AC servo motor comprises an AC power inputting means 1; a DC power inputting means 3; a means for selecting specifications for AC power supply input or specifications for DC power supply input; a means 6 for, if the AC power supply is interrupted with the specifications for AC power supply input selected, discharging the voltage of DC buses; a means 2 for detecting AC voltage and a means 4 for DC bus voltage; and a means for prohibiting discharging by the discharging means. The prohibiting means prohibits the discharging when the DC voltage, detected by the DC voltage detecting means in case of erroneous use where the specifications for AC power supply input are selected but DC power is erroneously inputted, is equal to or greater than a predetermined level and further, the AC voltage detected by the AC voltage detecting means is equal to or less than a predetermined level.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
