PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress fluctuations in brightnesses which are different for different displays.;SOLUTION: A foldable casing 1 has a folded-state detector 4 for detecting the folded state of the casing and a light sensor 5 opposed to a self-light- emitting display unit 2. A predetermined standard value is previously stored in a memory. A controller has a display function for photosensor correction of setting a screen of the display unit in a predetermined display state, when the casing is in the folded state, a photosensor output detection function of detecting the output value from the photosensor, a correction calculation function of calculating a correction to correct the output value of the photosensor by comparing the then detected output value with the stored standard value, and a brightness adjustment function of changing the brightness of the display unit, on the basis of an output value to ambient light from the photosensor and the calculated correction.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
