PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display with which a high definition and high quality display picture can be obtained by making picture data during power-off always constant and moreover by making them white picture data in which an after image can not be recognized, and to provide its driving method.;SOLUTION: A power source-off circuit 4 in which synchronizing signals H, V, D are inputted and also an off signal which is inputted just before the power source is turned off is provided to a liquid crystal display device. This power source-off circuit 4 is constituted so as to output synchronizing signals HS, VS, DE which become signals identical to the synchronizing signals H, V, D before the off signal is inputted to the circuit and become fixed signals after the off signal is inputted to the circuit.
