PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inspecting the shift of a printing position capable of detecting even the shift of the printing position less than the resolving power of a line sensor using a mark for inspecting the shift of the printing position.;SOLUTION: The image caught by a sensor of the first mark (b) printed on printed matter to be inspected is set as an image (d) to be inspected while the image caught by the sensor of the normally printed first mark (a) is set as a master image (c). The density levels of the portions concerned of both of the master image (c) and the image (d) to be inspected are compared mutually and the density level (E1xd) absent in the master image (c) on the image (d) to be inspected is detected to judge that the shift of the printing position is generated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
