PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reversible multicolor heat sensitive recording medium and a display medium capable of facilitating coloring and achromatizing only by heating, holding a coloring state and an achromatizing state at the ambient temperature, facilitating many times repeating use at a lower coloring temperature than an achromatizing temperature and obtaining a full-color image in the reversible heat sensitive recording medium and the display medium utilizing a reaction of a coloring agent with a developer, and to provide a method for recording and a method for displaying using the recording medium and the display medium, and a recorder and a display unit for realizing the method for recording and the method for displaying. ;SOLUTION: The reversible multicolor heat sensitive recording medium and the display medium comprise a recording layer or an image forming layer containing the coloring agent and the developer on a support. The recording medium and the display medium become an image forming state by coloring by heating and melting and form an achromatizing state for achromatizing the image by heating at the lower temperature than the coloring temperature.
