PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively crush pruned branches and other irregular material into fine pieces suitable e.g. for compost material.;SOLUTION: A working shaft having a screw blade which diameter is contracted downward to a front discharge opening in a roughly cylindrical treating vessel with the discharge opening formed at the front end and a charging port formed at the side is arranged and V-shaped cross-section notch part is formed all over around the screw blade. A projection part is formed at the discontinuous position from the outer edge of the screw blade in the wall of the treating vessel. Most of tips supplied from the charging port freaks into the space of the screw blade and the tips which have not broken into are squeezed in the notch part and transferred frontward. These tips squeezed inbetween the wall of the treating vessel and the screw blade hit the projection part and are transferred frontward as if they are scraped out and are crushed after expanded and softened.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
