Use of ceramide-rich lipid extracts internal to wool in the preparation of pharmaceutical and and cosmetic skin care products

An internal wool lipid extract that contains at least 15% by weight of ceramides is used in a cosmetic composition for the care of skin. Also described is a pharmaceutical composition comprising the internal wool lipids extract for use in the treatment of a skin disorder. The internal wool lipid extract may be found in the form of liposomes.
