Hemodiafiltration system comprises an ozonizer (60) producing an ozone-containing dialysis fluid which is returned to the patient's body via a supplementary fluid loop (30) and blood loop (20) in an amount controlled to provide 3-6 ppm ozone in the patient's blood. Hemodiafiltration system comprises: (1) a dialysis fluid loop (10) comprising a dialyzer supplied with an isotonic fluid comprising purified water, nutrients and minerals; (2) a blood loop (20) in which blood is conveyed to the dialyzer and then returned to the body; (3) a supplementary fluid loop (30) in which isotonic fluid from the dialysis fluid loop is filtered and fed directly into the blood loop; and (4) an ozonizer (60) in which the purified water entering the dialysis fluid loop is charged with ozone to produce an ozone-containing dialysis fluid which is returned to the patient's body via the supplementary fluid loop and blood loop in an amount controlled to provide 3-6 ppm ozone in the patient's blood.
