Control of production of cement clinker by analysis of the sulfur content in the final product.

Process for producing cement clinker using high fuel sulfur content, characterized by comprising: combusting the fuel of high sulfur content within a furnace; introducing feed material by a furnace inlet; passing the feed material through the kiln in the presence of fuel combustion in order to sinter the feed material to form sintered material; cooling the sintered material to form cement clinker; measuring the sulfur content in the cement clinker; and controlling the oxygen concentration in kiln inlet based on the measured sulfur content.
