The set of inorganic pigments derived from e.g. hydrotalcite comprises forming of the precursor (hydrotalcite) for calcining at 500-1500 degreesC. Also claimed is a process for producing the pigments. The process reacts a homogeneous solution of the soluble salts of divalent and trivalent cations with a solution of a soluble salt containing an anion.
