A hydrocracking process uses a catalyst which is based on an ultra-large porecrystalline material. The crystalline materialhas pores of at least 13 .ANG. diameter arranged in a uniform manner andexhibits unusually large sorption capacity demonstrated byits benzene adsorption capacity of greater than 15 grams benzene/100 grams (50tort and 25°C). A preferred form of the catalysthas a hexagonal structure which exhibits a hexagonal electron diffractionpattern than can be indexed with a d100 value greaterthan 18 .ANG.. In one embodiment of this invention, the catalyst additionallycomprises a zeolite component. The hydrocrackingcatalysts based on these materials are capable of producing hydrocrackedproducts of improved quality with lower nitrogenand aromatic content.
