PURPOSE: An engine is provided to minimize generation of noxious exhaust gas by the improved combustion characteristics, while achieving improved fuel efficiency in the engine performing a lean combustion. CONSTITUTION: An engine comprises a cylinder(30) having a piston(32) arranged to be movable within the cylinder, wherein the cylinder generates motion of the piston through the combustion of the fuel-air mixture; an intake valve(42) mounted in an intake port(40) communicated to the interior of the cylinder, which controls supply of fuel-air mixture to the cylinder; a discharge valve(62) mounted in a discharge port(60) communicated to the interior of the cylinder, which controls discharge of the exhaust gas burnt in the cylinder; an injector(47) mounted in the intake port, which injects the fuel being supplied into the cylinder; and an air guider(50) mounted in the intake port, which guides the fuel injected from the injector toward an ignition plug(35), and guide the air being supplied for combustion of the fuel toward the cylinder.
