COMPUTER NETWORK-BASED INTERACTIVE MULTIMEDIA LEARNING SYSTEM AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: An interactive multimedia education service system and method is provided to offer virtual images of a lecturer and a trainee, to make real time control of the virtual images based on the correctness of pronunciation of the trainee, and to assess the level of the trainee. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises several steps. A trainee logs in a web sit over a network, and selects a desired education menu among offered education contents. A control processor offers an avatar and target animation data to the trainee, performs an online session connection if the trainee applies a personal education, and then offers education contents on a display of a trainee computer. The control processor converts a section mode into a training mode(S72). The trainee pronounces a word(S73). The control processor recognizes the pronounced word by using a pronunciation recognition algorithm(S74), and outputs a pronunciation graph on a section(S75). The control processor measures a similarity between a standard pronunciation and the trainee pronunciation(S76), and checks whether the similarity satisfies a threshold condition(S77). If the similarity satisfies the threshold condition, the control processor outputs a message of selecting a next word(S79). The control processor checks whether the trainee passes a current education level(S80). If the trainee pushes a stop button, the control processor stores the training result at a personal education management database(S82).
