PURPOSE: A process for preparing pyrimidyloxy benzoic acid oximester derivatives using substituted 5 - (4,6 - dimethoxypyrimidine - 2 - yl) oxy - 4H - (1,3) - benzodioxin - 4 - one derivatives as a starting material is provided, thereby preparing the target compound in higher yield under mild condition. CONSTITUTION: A process for preparing pyrimidyloxy benzoic acid oximester derivatives using substituted 5 - (4,6 - dimethoxypyrimidine - 2 - yl) oxy - 4H - (1,3) - benzodioxin - 4 - one derivatives as a starting material comprises the steps of: reacting substituted 5 - (4,6 - dimethoxypyrimidine - 2 - yl) oxy - 4H - (1,3) - benzodioxin - 4 - one derivatives of the formula(IV) with oxime of the formula(III) or metal salts thereof to prepare a compound of the formula(V) reacting the compound of the formula(V) with pyrimidine derivatives of the formula(VI) to prepare oximester derivatives of 2,6-di(4,6-dimethoxypyrimidine-2-yl)oxybenzoic acid, wherein R is hydrogen, halogen, cyano, nitro, C1-C4 alkyl, C3-C6 cycloalkyl, C1-C4 alkoxy, C2-C4 alkenyloxy, C1-C4 alkylthio, C1-C4 alkyl substitutable amino, aryl, aryloxy, C1-C4 acyl or C1-C4 acyloxy; R2 is hydrogen, halogen, cyano, nitro, C1-C4 alkyl, C1-C4 alkoxy, C1-C4 alkylthio, C1-C4 alkoxycarbonyl, C2-C4 alkenyloxycarbonyl, arylmethoxycarbonyl, heteroarylmethoxycarbonyl, C1-C4 alkylaminocarbonyl, di(C1-C4 alkyl)aminocarbonyl, arylmethylaminocarbonyl, heteroarylmethylaminocarbonyl, or R1 substitutable phenyl; R3 and R4 are independently hydrogen, C1-C4 alkyl, C1-C4 haloalkyl having 1 to 5 halogen or alkylbenzene ring; R5, R6, R7 and R8 are independently hydrogen, C1-C4 alkyl or C1-C4 haloalkyl having 1 to 5 halogen; X and Y are independently oxygen or sulfur; Z is halogen or C1-C4 alkylsulfonyl; R is hydrogen or M; M is alkali metal cation or alkali earth metal cation; n is an integer of 1 to 5; and m is 0 or 1.
