PURPOSE: A recording device and a voice inserting method thereof are provided to record voice before or during recording through a line. CONSTITUTION: A recording device having a voice insertion function contains a storing instrument(12) for storing signals. A controlling instrument(10) controls recording state through switching over an audio recording mode and a voice recording mode. A switching instrument(26) selects input of audio signal or voice signal for inputting to the controlling instrument. A signal converting instrument(14) converts the input signal for inputting to the controlling instrument. Herein, the voice recording mode is established in established state of the audio recording mode. Thus, the controlling instrument stops selection of the audio signal in the voice recording mode to select the voice signal.
