Image abstraction type apparatus for certifying a identity and method for certifying the identity using the same

PURPOSE: Provided is an identity authentication system which extracts an ID card as an image type to analyze this image through a series of treatment process and authenticate users' identity before using a vending machine so that it enables to give limits to users of the vending machine. CONSTITUTION: The image extraction-typed identity authentication system comprises the parts of: a housing(10) which includes space to carry the ID card in or out; a sensing part(15) which senses whether the ID card is touched to the space for carrying the ID card or not; an image generation part(16) which scans the ID card and generates ID card image; an image correction part(18) which clears image, corrects decline of image and divides image into graphical image and textual image wherein each character in the textual image is partitioned; a vector treatment part(19) which treats the corrected textual image by vector and extracts characteristic value of the textual image; an identity judgement part(20) which compares the extracted characteristic value with standard value to judge identity of users; and a control part(22) which controls the entire system and delivers judgement results in the judgement part into a control block to determine whether external devices run or not.
