Heating method for car interiors comprises using microwaves to treat semiconducting cross-linked organopolysiloxane elastomers. The semiconducting properties may be obtained by incorporating carbon black or intrinsically conductive polymers, e.g. polyacetylene or polyanilin. The microwaves may be provided by a domestic (2450 MHz) or industrial (2.45 GHz) device.
