Method in which the voltage difference between the output voltage of a high frequency generator and the voltage of a measurement circuit that is detachably connected to the generator is measured. The voltage difference is dependent on the circuit capacitance and inductance and the output difference voltage is a measure for the circuit capacitance. Additionally measurement circuit damping is measured and used for the quantitative determination of fluid properties, especially the conductivity.
