Measuring the receptor capacity of whole transfixed cells, comprising using a capacitative assembly comprising: (a) a silicon wafer, with gold deposition and a coating of octadecylmercaptane, as a substrate (1); (b) an insulation layer (2); and (c) a layer of transfixed whole human embryonal kidney (HEK) cells (3), to measure the change in charging current upon stimulation of the receptors by their agonists. Measuring the receptor capacity of whole transfixed cells, comprising using a capacitative assembly comprising: (a) a silicon wafer, with gold deposition and a coating of octadecylmercaptane, as a substrate (1); (b) an insulation layer (2); and (c) a layer of transfixed whole human embryonal kidney (HEK) cells (3), to measure the change in charging current upon stimulation of the receptors by their agonists, is new. The cells are shrouded by a buffer solution (4) and both the buffer solution and the substrate are connected to a voltage supply. A monitor registers changes in the current.
