A method for providing multi-path configurations for data communication, in which the configurations are carried out by connection units (transport nodes) which belong to the inter-connectivity unit (ICU) and through directly driven command words of the processor system. The command words operating the ICU are prepared as coded command words by the processor system (0), in which the command words to be decoded in an ICU-decoder (2) are filed previously in a register sequentially in part word widths and there are parallel-converted and after readout from the register and subsequent decoding the ICU-decoder (2), effect a configuration of the respective connection units (5) by means of the thus prepared bit-pattern. An Independent claim is given for an arrangement of a configurable bus system associated with a parallel working processor system.
