The blade sharpener has a handle (20) and operating section (21) with opening (22) and two grinding bodies (4) each with a grinding surface (41) with an angular space formed between same and connected to the opening. Each grinding body has a radially protruding projection (43). A shaft (3) mounted rotatable in a bore (25) of the operating section has on its outer side two spiral shaped grooves (31) whereby the projections engage in the grooves. A fixing pin (5) runs through the operating section and engages with the shaft.
