The printing press, and especially a rotary web offset press, has one plate cylinder (22) and a rubber blanket cylinder (20) with a given radius (r1). A second plate cylinder (12) works with a rubber blanket cylinder (10). The print transfer gap (6) is between the blanket cylinders for the web (5) passage. The cylinders form an initial printing station (1), where the radius (r2) of the second blanket cylinder is smaller than the radius of the other blanket cylinder.
