The low pressure mold, for castings with side cut-in sections, has mold plates (4) and a core (3) mounted at a bridge (7). The bridge and the mold plates have sliding wedges which work together, to move the plates outwards against the bridge. The core can be lifted slightly after casting by 5 mm, and before the plates are moved vertically, to form a gap between the molded casting and the core. The head plate (10) has movement on bolts (12) at the bridge.
