The commissioning system (1) has a closed circulating conveyor track for each working place (4,5), for the delivery and reception of selected containers (3) to be commissioned. Each conveyor track has a first preferably straight line conveyor track section (12,13) in the vicinity of the end face of the container shelf structure (2), especially in the direct region of a container lift (9), and a second preferably straight line conveyor track section (14,15) in the vicinity of the working places. The delivery tracks of the working places lie in different horizontal planes and preferably in the vicinity of the lower planes of the container shelf structure.
